Pulled Pork
This is comfort food

This pulled pork is the best I have ever tasted and is so easy to make. You have two choices of flavours, apple cider or root beer, but do not worry if you don’t like root beer, for when it is cooked you will not know it has root beer in it, the apple cider will give it a little tang.

There are only three ingredients in this recipe, the pork, barbecue sauce, apple cider or root beer.

You can use a slow cooker or stove top. Great with mashed potatoes Cook and enjoy.

  • 2 lb (900g) boneless pork shoulder
  • 2 cups (500ml) apple cider or 1 can Root Beer
  • 19-oz (540ml) bottle barbecue sauce
  • Stove top:

In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, combine pork, apple cider or root beer and barbecue sauce. Stir well, then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to maintain a steady simmer. Cook for 1 hour to 1 ¼ hours or until the pork is very tender and the liquid is reduced and thick.

    Slow cooker

Place pork, apple cider or root beer and barbecue sauce in cooker, now if you like it hot, add pepper sauce or any spices you may like or if not, just cook 7-8 hours or overnight the three ingredients, it will taste great.

When cooked use two forks to shred and pull apart pork, mixing it with sauce. Serve pork over hot mashed potatoes.
