Low In Calories Too

This healthy bread will make two medium loves and can be made in one bowl, so you will not have a lot of cleaning up to do. If you don't have any buttermilk in the house, just use 1 cup milk and add any one of the following...1 tbsp of...vinegar...lemon juice...or 1 3/4 tsp cream of tartar.The apple sauce will take the place of oil, now it is a low calorie bread.If you prefer you can replace the buttermilk with plain yogurt.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all bran
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tsp soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup nuts or dates
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce

    Preparation:

    Mix dry ingredients together, put soda in buttermilk, mix together. Grease pan well and flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
