Slow Cooker Stuffing
This slow cooker stuffing is so moist and delicious you will use your slow cooker more often now that you know how easy it is to make stuffing, you do not have to make it from scratch you can use a store bought stuffing. This is also an excellent way to free up the oven for other dishes on a busy cooking day.Ingredients: 1 Cup butter or margarine2 Cups chopped onion2 Cups chopped celery1/4 Cup chopped parsley12 oz sliced mushrooms 12 Cups day old bread cubes1 Tbsp poultry seasoning 2 Tsp dried sage1 Tsp. Dried thyme ½ Tsp dried marjoram 1 ½ Tsp salt½ Tsp ground pepper4-1/2 cups chicken broth2 Eggs, beatenPreparation: Melt butter or margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion, celery, mushrooms, and parsley stirring frequently.Spoon cooked vegetables over bread cubes in a very large mixing bowl. Season with poultry seasoning pour in enough broth to moisten, and mix in egg.Transfer mixture to slow cooker set on high.Cook on high for 45 minutes, then reduce heat to low, and cook for 4 to 8 hours. Tip: if you use mixed poultry seasoning then add 3 tbsp. Instead of each spice.
